Opus Group, LLC (Opus Group) announced today that Kellie Kim has joined the company as Vice President of Finance. A strategic hire, Kim will oversee the key areas of operations that directly impact company competitiveness.

“Kellie is a critical addition to our management team,” said Alex Guo, managing member of Opus Group. “With her experience guiding other companies through significant growth, she will be instrumental in driving company growth by increasing our competitiveness within the industry.”

Kim brings extensive professional experience in the areas of accounting and financial services with both private and public companies ranging from start-ups to the fortune 500. She most recently held the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Astrium Services Government, Inc., a leading operator of customized and secure end-to-end satellite communications services.

Kim holds a degree from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and is a graduate of The Wharton School Aresty Institute of Executive Education Program at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a certified public accountant and holds the designation of Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

Opus Group Awarded Contract to Help the Department of Homeland Security Combat Fraud

Opus Group, LLC (Opus Group) announced today that it has been awarded the Risk Fraud Service (RFS) contract with the Department of Homeland Security’s US Citizenship and Immigration Services (DHS USCIS) to provide professional IT services in support of the Anti-Threat and Fraud System (ATFS) to help the government strengthen national security safeguards and combat fraud.

“We’re excited to support USCIS as it continues to leverage cutting-edge technology and software development methodologies to strengthen our national security,” said Alex Guo, managing member of Opus Group. “We’re honored to be a part of it.”

As the prime contractor, Opus Group will provide project management and Agile teams to perform requirements gathering, development, and test and evaluation activities to implement multiple ESB services critical to increasing the effectiveness of the ATFS. The company will also apply its knowledge of the USCIS technical environment and Agile methodology to help the agency manage the overall systems engineering lifecycle. The RFS contract is slated to span a 12-month period of performance.

This contract award will allow Opus Group to apply its deep CRM technical expertise to provide ongoing operations, maintenance, and enhancements to the award-winning MC311 solution originally designed and implemented by the company. Opus Group personnel will work side-by-side with County staff to maintain and optimize call center functionality, driving new standards for government responsiveness, transparency, and efficiency.

The MC311 solution, originally deployed by Opus Group in 2011, received extensive industry recognition, including the first Gartner award ever issued to a public-sector organization. Opus Group, LLC Selected by City Of Atlanta to Implement Award-Winning 311/CRM Solution

Opus Group, LLC (Opus Group) has been awarded a contract by the City of Atlanta, Georgia to implement the constituent relationship management (CRM) solution for the city’s ATL311 initiative. As the primary CRM consultant, Opus Group will define, configure, and implement the ATL311 solution based on Opus Group 311 best practices for CRM, service management, knowledge management, business intelligence, and analytical reporting.

“ATL311 is a significant initiative for the City of Atlanta as we strive to improve customer service and we are pleased to move to the next level of the initiative with Opus Group,” says Joann Butler, the 311 Project Officer for the City of Atlanta.

By leveraging Opus Group’s 311 best practices, the final ATL311 solution will:

  • Significantly enhance service delivery and allow the city to capture constituent wants and needs and then analyze that information to the benefit of the public as a whole.
  • Provide management and employees the tools, information systems, and data necessary to ensure timely and satisfactory disposition of constituents’ requests.
  • Deliver the necessary information to enable city leaders to make proactive resource allocation and operational decisions.

The ATL311 project will span a 24-month period of performance. Opus Group will perform comprehensive strategy planning, full solution implementation, and ongoing system refinement, resulting in a solution that will achieve the city’s vision and strategy for ATL311. Opus Group will conduct and deliver a functional gap analysis, solution scope, and solution blueprint as part of a best practices approach that efficiently maps the city’s business requirements to the commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Oracle software modules, maximizing out-of-the-box functionality.  The solution will also highly leverage Oracle Managed Cloud Services, minimizing the city’s investments in IT infrastructure and platforms.

ATL311 will be similar to the enterprise, CRM-based 311 system Opus Group designed and implemented for Montgomery County, Maryland, known as MC311. The MC311 solution allowed the county to document $10.3M in savings during its first year of operation and received extensive industry recognition, including a Gartner award for customer analytics, recognition from the National Association of Counties (NACo), Oracle’s CRM Blog, and two recognitions from the Public Technology Institute (PTI)—a CRM Excellence Award and Citizen-Engaged Community designation. Opus Group also won an Oracle Titan Award for its application of best practices during the MC311 implementation.

Opus Group Wins Prince George’s County, Md. Task Order For ERP Data Preparation

Opus Group, LLC (Opus Group) has been awarded a task order with Prince George’s County, Md. to perform comprehensive ERP data preparation activities. The task order was awarded under the company’s Computer and Technology Services (CATS) blanket purchase agreement contract with the county.

Working in conjunction with the County’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), Opus Group will leverage the vast experience of its teaming partner, iGATE, in business data extraction, analysis, and standardization to prepare key legacy system data for conversion to the county’s new ERP system. The Opus Group project team will employ a proven, three-stage data preparation methodology to identify, extract, collect, cleanse, and standardize data from multiple legacy systems in preparation for upload into the county’s new ERP environment. Preparation will be performed for data related to the County’s finance, budget, procurement/contracting, warehouse, and inventory functions.
